Medical Disclaimer

Read this before using AllergyMate to communicate a food allergy.

AllergyMate is a communication aid, not medical advice. It cannot guarantee that a meal is safe. Always confirm with restaurant staff and carry any medication prescribed by your doctor.

Not medical advice

Nothing produced by AllergyMate constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to a qualified medical professional about managing your allergies, especially before travelling.

Translations may be wrong

Cards are generated by large language models. They may mistranslate, transliterate inconsistently, omit ingredients, or use phrasing that is ambiguous in regional dialects. Treat every card as a starting point for conversation, not a guarantee.

Cross-contamination is real

Even if a dish is listed as allergen-free, shared fryers, utensils, cutting boards, sauces, and surfaces can cause exposure. Ask explicitly about preparation, not just ingredients.

Always carry your medication

If you have been prescribed an epinephrine auto-injector or any other emergency medication, carry it at all times — including when using AllergyMate.

In an emergency

If you experience a severe allergic reaction, use your prescribed medication and seek emergency medical help immediately. Do not rely on this app or any digital tool during a medical emergency.

No liability

By using AllergyMate you accept that the maintainers are not liable for any harm resulting from translation errors, missed allergens, or any other use of the Service. See the Terms & Conditions for full details.
